My work takes me beyond the Riverina. Photography travels with me wherever I go and in April 2011, when I was on a photographic trip around the South Island of New Zealand, I happened upon a remarkable independent recording artist, Aly Cook, who was shooting a music video for her debut album, “Brand New Day.”
Of course this Wagga photographer couldn’t help himself - I had to capture some of the action! After the clip, Aly Cook asked if I would take a few shots of her and this was the shot that got everyone’s attention.
It became the promotional poster for Aly Cook’s world tour in 2011.
The image also appeared in New Zealand’s Nelson Mail Newspaper as well as NEXT magazine alongside a story about Aly Cook’s nomination as New Zealand Woman of the Year.
Aly Cook is a dedicated artist who works extremely hard with her music but also gives back in other ways including fundraising for the Christchurch Earthquake appeal and the humanitarian organisation, Global Village.
This image of Aly Cook helps tell her story. Let me help you tell yours.
Big News! Stay tuned, there’s big news coming about Aly Cook and one very excited Riverina Photographer!
Your Wagga Photographer was invited to do a photo shoot for Aly Cook in Auckland NZ on the 7th of October 2011. The idea was to document the making of Aly's recently released music video clip 'Midnight Sun'. A behind the scenes documentary featuring some of the images will be released by Aly during 2012.
